About Us
In 2008, the previous owners decided to return to the US mainland and to sell Kopa Haiku. The Company was purchased and placed under new a new local Hawaiian management team headed by Gary and Stephanie Gray. The new owners remain committed to making the very best in bath and skin care products in Hawaii. The new owners are also looking to broaden the product line and to increase the market’s awareness of the benefits of Hawaiian made bath and body products using all-natural ingredients of the purest quality. Gary is a member of Hui Holomua, a Chamber of Commerce for Native Hawaiians. Gary’s family used to make home-made soaps. In his youth, he was a suntan lotion salesman on the beaches of Waikiki in between surfing and at one time he was a “paniolo” (cowboy) at a ranch on the Big Island. Gary’s more serious professional background has been primarily in Sales and Marketing management for consumer products. Gary and Stephanie moved to Maui in 2007, although they frequently visit Stephanie’s relatives in Oahu. In 2005, Gary and Stephanie formed Nalu Koa Corporation, a Hawaiian fragrance company. Nalu Koa’s primary product is a man’s cologne which is marketed by Island Heritage throughout Hawaii and the Pacific Rim. The acquisition of Kopa Haiku is a major step towards accomplishing their personal goals of having a world class line of Hawaiian bath and body skin care products. Finally, the new owners want to reemphasize the caring Aloha attitude in the company’s services and the sense of “ohana” (family) in its relationships with employees, customers and visitors.
